Realme has just launched three new mid-range smartphones: the Realme 9 Pro+, Realme 9 Pro, and Realme 9i. You can already check out my full review of the Realme 9 Pro+ but before you go, stay a while if you want to understand the main differences between the Realme 9 Pro+, Realme 9 Pro, and Realme 9i.

Realme 9 Pro Range: Prices And Availability

Officially, Realme speaks well of the Realme 9 Pro range and not Realme nine at all. All three smartphones are mid-range models. The Realme 9 Pro+ is the flagship and focuses on the photo part with its Sony IMX766 sensor. The Realme 9 Pro is the intermediate model, with a more contained and balanced technical sheet, while the Realme 9i is the affordable alternative in this range. The three smartphones will be available in France and Europe from February 23, 2022, in the following configurations:

Realme 9 Pro+, Realme 9 Pro, Realme 9i: What Are The Differences?

Realme 9 Pro+

The Realme 9 Pro+ is supposed to be a mid-range smartphone that offers a high-end photo experience. For this, it has a triple 50 + 8 + 2 MP photo module carried by a lens with a Sony IMX766 sensor. A sensor with OIS and EIS that is generally found on much more expensive Android flagships such as the OnePlus 9 / Pro or the Oppo Find X3 Pro. For the rest of the technical sheet, there is a mid-range MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G SoC, a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen in Full HD+ with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and a 4500 mAh battery that accepts fast-charging wired SuperDart in 60 watts but not wireless charging. On the design side, the Realme 9 Pro+ comes in three colors: Dawn Blue, Aurora Green, and Midnight Black. Realme has employed a photochromic lens coating which is said to change upon contact with sunlight or UV rays.

Realme 9 Pro

The Realme 9 Pro, plain and simple, isn’t as photo-focused as the Plus version. But that does not prevent it from carrying a triple 64 MP photo module. It also sports the same design and colors as the Realme 9 Pro+. But the Realme 9 Pro wants to be more balanced as a mid-range smartphone, which is not without advantages or concessions. The 6.4-inch screen incorporates a not Amoled IPS LCD panel but offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz and not 90, for example, and the touch sampling rate is 360 Hz instead of 180. The battery is larger than the Realme 9 Pro+ with 5000 mAh against 4500. On the other hand, the Realme 9 Pro only accepts 33-watt Dart Charge wired fast charging. The base Realme Pro is incidentally connected to a Snapdragon 695 5G SoC from Qualcomm.

Realme 9i

We come to the youngest, the Realme 9i. The manufacturer claims that it is the smartphone with the first SoC engraved 6 nm under 200 euros in Europe with the Snapdragon 680. The Realme 9i is, therefore, the only one in this range not to be 5G compatible. It’s also the only one to have a plastic back and frame, not glass. It also features a 6.6-inch 90 Hz IPS LCD screen, a triple 50 MP photo module, and a 5000 mAh rechargeable battery at 33 watts.Design-wise, the Realme 9i only comes in two colors: Prism Black and Prism Blue.
